R&D IN FOOD PRESERVATION
The Unit of R&D Advanced Service (SICAL) offers advice in R&D providing customised solutions to increase quality and food safety with the ultimate aim of improving the commercialisation of fisheries and aquaculture products. Our main guarantee is our scientific knowledge and the development of more than 20 research contracts with companies of the Sector in Galicia, Spain and Europe.
The objectives of SICAL are to provide solutions in different scales, from occasional consultancy studies for companies to studies of R&D of greater difficulty and length, all of them with the ultimate purpose of responding to the demands of the Sector and of contributing to the technology transfer. Furthermore, the Group has a collection of bacterial strains of Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus isolated from surfaces and food of the food industry, specifically from the fisheries sector.
