Biografía

I was born in the coast of Lima, one of the most urbanized and populated cities in South America. But also the peruvian coast is one of the most productive and biodiverse oceans in the world. I spent my childhood at the beaches, one day I realised that climate change and temperature variation were affecting biodiversity and I started to be aware of what was happening in our oceans and decided to study this ecosystem. The project I am doing will bring us some light to some of the current problems in the Oceanic relation with anthropogenic activity (fisheries) and climate. With the application of zooarchaeological tools and population genetics I am looking for answers to tackle the overexploitation of the european hake (Merluccius merluccius) since remote times.
