The Institute of Marine Research (IIM-CSIC) is one of the main marine research centers in the Iberian Peninsula. Looking at the Atlantic from Vigo, a city with a strong connection with the sea, the IIM-CSIC faces the challenge of increasing our knowledge about the ocean, from its physical characteristics to the food we take from it and the processes that bind the whole system together.

The Institute of Marine Research of the Spanish National Research Council (IIM-CSIC) is seeking candidates for three one-year contracts. These contracts are funded under the EmpleoJoven FSE+ programme.

The offered positions are at M2 level, according to the IV Single Collective Agreement of the General State Administration (CUAGE), with a gross annual salary of €26,952.94. They are aimed at candidates under 30 years of age with degrees of less than 300 ECTS and who hold the required qualifications for each position.

Contract 183 | Graphic Design, Science Communication & Public Engagement

Approximate description of tasks: 

  1. Support the activity of the Engagement with the Public Unit of the Institute of Marine Research, thereby contributing to improving the visibility of the centre and the scientific research of the CSIC.
  2. Design and participate in the development of graphic resources, promotional and educational materials, in Spanish and Galician, both for internal and external dissemination, in both face-to-face and digital environments.
  3. Support the organisation and development of science communication events carried out by the Unit.

Required degrees: especially aimed at degrees in Advertising and Public Relations, Cultural Management, Cultural Sciences and Cultural Dissemination, and Audiovisual Communication, among others.

Contract 184 | Protocolisation, quality and mangement of scientific equipment

Approximate description of tasks: 

  1. Drafting protocols for the use of shared equipment and supporting research groups in its use.
  2. Maintaining quality standards and protocols for equipment calibration and control.
  3. Managing hazardous waste at the Institute of Marine Research.
