The Institute of Marine Research (IIM-CSIC) is one of the main marine research centers in the Iberian Peninsula. Looking at the Atlantic from Vigo, a city with a strong connection with the sea, the IIM-CSIC faces the challenge of increasing our knowledge about the ocean, from its physical characteristics to the food we take from it and the processes that bind the whole system together.

The IIM-CSIC is offering several opportunities to join our Institute for PreDoc, PostDoc researchers and for Lab Technicians.

Beware and contact your potential supervisors by the deadline shown below. After contacting, and if selected, you may have to prepare a project proposal with your supervisor and submit it to the funding body. This might take a while, so contact asap.

The Institute of Marine Research (IIM-CSIC) offers a pre-doctoral contract within the Programa para la Formación de Doctores de la Agencia Estatal de Investigación (FPI), contracts granted by the State Research Agency to people who wish to obtain a doctorate associated with a project financed by aid for R&D projects of the State Knowledge Generation Subprogram, within the framework of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2021-2023. Applicants must be enrolled or admitted to a doctoral program at a Spanish university, for the 2021/2022 academic year, or be in a position to be on the date the contract is formalized. The program covers the pre-doctoral contract for a period of up to 48 months to carry out the thesis.

The Institute of Marine Research (IIM-CSIC) offers 1 research topic to apply for pre-doctoral contracts of 4 years duration with us, within the program Ayudas para la formación de profesorado universitario (FPU2022) from the Ministry of Universities.

The purpose of these aids is to facilitate research training in doctoral programs for the achievement of a PhD, as well as the acquisition of skills that facilitate the future incorporation of these people into the Spanish system of higher education and scientific research. The contract will have a duration of four years and will also finance a stay in foreign centers, and exceptionally in Spain, which contributes to the improvement or specialization of pre-doctoral training.

The Institute of Marine Research (IIM-CSIC ) shares 1 offer to apply for contracts with us for the Research Technical Support Staff, within the Aid for Technical Support Staff Contracts (PTA) 2022  of the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI).

These are three-year contracts for people with a University Degree (Bachelors' or Masters') or a College Certificate in Higher Education (Spanish 'Ciclo Formativo', former-FP), to support the management of equipment, facilities and other R&D&I infrastructures to increase and improve the performace of scientific-technical institutions like ours.
