How to visit the IIM?
Visits to IIM-CSIC are back!
For several years, the IIM-CSIC has opened its doors to every group or institution that had an interest in learning about what we do from the inside. Are you interested to know what a research center looks like? What the people working here are like?
The visits to our center are full tours guided by the staff of our Engagement with Society Unit and are usually conducted in Galician or Spanish (although arrangements for other languages can be discussed).
During the tour, we'll take visitors around different areas of the Institute, including the labs where our scientific and technical staff will explain first hand the latest subjects they've been working on, talk about what their day-to-day life working in STEM is like, and answer all the questions they can.
Our live visits are perfect for high schools and higher level centers looking for new ways of bringing their students closer to the science of sustainability and trying to foster STEM careers among the scientists of the future.
Although most of our visitors are traditionally students at different academic levels, we are open (and have already organized) visits for other types of groups and institutions, such as food industry workers or groups of neighbors with an interest in our work.

An alternative way of getting closer to our work is to arrange a visit to your institution by one of our researchers or technicians. If you are also interested in this possibility, please contact us at cultura.iim@iim.csic.es.
